Frequently asked questions that we receive at focus coaching.
Q1 - Is Coaching just another word for counselling?
A1 - No, counselling involves probing into your past to find the circumstances that gave rise to the issues you may have today. Coaching is about taking you from where you are now and getting you to where you want to be (regardless of your past or current circumstances).
Q2 – But don’t you still sit and ask questions like a counsellor?
A2 – Questioning is very important as it can help you realise where you need to make changes in your life. This is called a reflective process. But unlike counsellors and other coaches, we like to use a more dynamic, hands on approach and interact with you which means, we are happy to visit you in your work place, your home or other place relevant to your progress.
Q3 - So is Coaching a kind or of therapy?
A3 – No it is very much a practical approach to tackling real issues in your life with clear goals and objectives. Coaching is a genuine partnership. Your Coach is the little angel on your shoulder keeping you on target and motivated to progress into your new life.
Q4 – Isn’t Coaching a little bit expensive?
A4 – That depends on how you look at Coaching. Compared to other organisations we offer very reasonable prices and flexibility. What you need to ask yourself is; do I want change in my life, have I managed to do it alone so far, what is the price that you put on your long term happiness?

Q5 – How do I know that you won’t just say yes to any problem I present to you?
A5 – Focus Coaching is passionate about people finding themselves and making the most of their lives. Life is short and we want you to live yours to the best of your abilities. With this in mind, we work alongside other organisations/professionals that offer complimentary services. In most cases, we will call on their services to support you (if it is needed) or we will sign-post you to a third party who is best placed to help and support you with your needs.
